ASIO4ALL is a free and open-source audio driver for Windows. Thanks to these drivers, you can use sound cards that don't have native ASIO drivers. These sound cards stand out for their low latency, which is very important in both the music recording and production industries and live events. Thanks to ASIO4ALL, you can access low-latency recording even if professional hardware is unavailable.
A professional audio interface
ASIO4ALL works by using a WDM (Windows Driver Model) driver, which emulates ASIO (Audio Stream Input/Output) features and acts as a bridge between the software and the audio hardware.
Audio device management
After installing ASIO4ALL, you can access a graphic interface to manage different parameters. First is a list of audio devices connected to your PC, such as sound cards, speakers, headphones, microphones, and more. From there, you can activate the sound playback on the devices as you wish and even combine them. On the right of this is the latency compensation option, where you can compensate for the delay (measured in milliseconds) between input and output devices.
Input and output latency adjustment
In addition to adjusting the latency and the devices you are listening to, ASIO4ALL also lets you change the buffer offset, force resampling from 44 kHz to 48 kHz, or force the WDM driver to operate in 16-bit mode.
Download ASIO4ALL and enjoy professional sound recording on your computer.
